A convenient route to mono-trans polyunsaturated free fatty acids

چکیده
Trans unsaturated fatty acids in humans may be originated both from dietary supplementation and an endogenous free-radical-catalyzed cis−trans isomerization of acid residues naturally occurring cis lipids. The latter process affords geometrical isomers the polyunsaturated mono-trans were demonstrated to connected with stress conditions living organisms. Synthesis is useful for analytical biological research, this case, availability free needed as well possibility mg scale synthetic protocol. Herein, we report a simple route arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic docosahexaenoic which includes thiyl radical-catalyzed reaction methyl esters fraction isolation mixture followed by optimization hydrolysis condition purification each acid. Our approach can reach scale, thus fostering more applications biochemical studies.

Metabolic Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Chickens: A Review
Chicken has been used as a suitable model for lipid metabolism studies, because dietary modifications especially dietary fat type can change chicken body composition. Fats act as a condense source of energy and certain fatty acids such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are required for both animal and human health. The n-3 PUFAs, especially, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic ...

1 Communicative & Integrative Biology 2009; Vol. 2 Issue 5 We recently found positive correlations between human general intelligence and three key indices of semen quality, and hypothesized that these correlations arise through a phenotypewide ‘general fitness factor’ reflecting overall mutation load. In this addendum we consider some of the biochemical pathways that may act as targets for ple...
متن کاملPolyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Children
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are the major components of brain and retina, and are the essential fatty acids with important physiologically active functions. Thus, PUFAs should be provided to children, and are very important in the brain growth and development for fetuses, newborn infants, and children. Omega-3 fatty acids decrease coronary artery disease and improve blood flow. PUFAs ha...
متن کاملPolyunsaturated fatty acids and inflammation.
The n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, arachidonic acid, is a precursor of prostaglandins, leukotrienes and related compounds that have important roles as mediators and regulators of inflammation. Consuming increased amounts of long chain n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (found in oily fish and fish oils) results in a partial replacement of the arachidonic acid in cell membranes by eicosapentaenoic...
متن کاملTrans Fatty Acids
What are trans fatty acids (TFA)? Fatty acids found in foods can be saturated (SFA, no double bonds), monounsaturated (MUFA, 1 double bond) or polyunsaturated (PUFA , 2 or more double bonds). The double bonds provide rigidity to the molecule and result in specific molecular configurations. Naturally occurring fatty acids in foods usually have the cis configuration, i.e. the hydrogen atoms with ...
